Grade C Locknuts at Empire Bolt & Screw

Grade C (Stover or Top-Lock) Locknuts are one-piece, all-metal locknuts with a conical “crown”.  The threads within this top crown have been subjected to a slight controlled distortion, causing them to assume an elliptical shape instead of their original helical form.  When mated external threads come into contact with these elliptical threads and the 2 components are properly torqued into position together, the result is a union that is extremely resistant to vibrational loosening and shock loads.  These are considered one-way locknuts as they can only be installed one way: top-up.
