Oval Head Phillips Drive Machine Screws at Empire Bolt & Screw
Oval Head screws are considered countersunk, however unlike their Flat Head cousins that offer a completely flush seating, Oval Heads have a slightly rounded top that rises a bit above the countersunk mating surface. This gives a finished, decorative appearance to this screw that is desirable in many applications. The Phillips Drive is a positive, 4-lobe drive style providing a self-centering recess by which to engage the screw in its application. It debuted in the 1930’s, when Henry Ford first introduced them onto his production line, solidifying their place as an American manufacturing staple.
