Finished hex nuts are easily the most prevalent style of nut in the world.  They are found in virtually every industrial, structural, construction, or machinery application.  They are designed to pair with bolts, screws, studs, or some other externally threaded component. The internal threads of the Finished Hex Nut mate with the external threads of the bolt, creating friction between the opposing threads and tension in the externally threaded component, thereby introducing clamping force between the fastening units.  For this reason, it is a solid union with substantial holding force. 

Grade 2 Finished Hex Nuts are suitable for use with all low carbon steel fasteners, including threaded rod, Grade 2 Hex Cap Screws and Bolts, and A307 Grade A Hex Cap Screws and Bolts.   In addition to Plain Finish, common coatings include Electro-Zinc, Zinc Yellow, Hot Dipped Galvanized, Black Zinc, and Black Oxide.
